Welcome To St Matthew's Parish Church Redhill!

Read On - We're A Bit Different From What You Might Expect……….

Within a stone's throw of Burger King, right next door to the office of "Puzzler Magazine" and just up the road from Marks and Spencer's, you'll find St Matthew's Church literally at the heart of the community of Redhill. We're here to serve the 7,000 people who live within the boundary of our town centre parish and also the many more who flock daily to our town to work or shop here.

Our church is made up of people from all walks of life, many of whom simply fell through the door of the church for some reason or another and decided that this was the spiritual home they'd been looking for. We're excited by the fact that we have committed members of all the age groups and at the last count our church family is made up of fourteen different nationalities.

Our worship holds it all together - or at least tries too. Sunday morning at 10am is good time to come and meet us all. But we are a seven day a week church with all sorts of groups and activities going on to suit everyone's lifestyle and timetable. The church is open every day between 12 noon and 2pm and there is a lunchtime service at 1pm on a Tuesday and a concert every Thursday at 1.10pm.
We are a church that enjoys eating and drinking together so we enjoy social activities as well and are proud of our hall and catering facilities.

We're living in challenging times and we believe that the faith we share can give a vital grounding to our lives. You will find that at St Matthew's we are not afraid to question things and try out new ideas.

We have a brand new clergy team. Our Vicar, Fr Andrew joined us in November 2006 and our Curate Rev Rosemary was ordained Priest just a few weeks earlier. They share in the ministry with Scilla and Martha our two Pastoral Assistants - but we are a church that believes everyone has a part to play in one way or another.

Perhaps you've come on to this web site just to see what's going on in Redhill.

You might have a specific idea in mind such as thinking about getting your children christened or maybe you're considering a church wedding but don't know where to start.

It could be that something difficult is going on in your life at the moment and you'd like to find out if the church could help.
We may not have all the answers and we certainly don't pretend to be perfect, but you can be sure of a welcome and some friendly support.
